MUTINY: WHY THE SOLDIERS FIGHTING BOKO HARAM OPENED FIRE ON THE ARMY GENERAL YESTERDAY.
MAIDUGURI—The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Ahmadu Mohammed, yesterday, escaped death as angry soldiers opened fire on his official vehicle when he came to address them at the Maimalari Barracks in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
This came as local villagers succeeded in repelling a Boko Haram attack, killing about 200 of the sect members in the process.
A source said the soldiers went on an operation in Kala Balge council area of Bornu state but they were instructed to withdraw from the assignment and return to Maiduguri immediately. The source said on their way back, they were ambushed leading to the death of some soldiers.
According to the source: “The troops arrived with the corpses of the slain soldiers to Maimalari barracks while the GOC was addressing some troops on the ongoing operation against the insurgency. But when the soldiers sighted the corpses of their deceased colleagues, and learnt about how they died, they condemned the way their superior officers allegedly treated them in the course of the operation, and therefore started shooting sporadically, while others opened fire on the GOC’s vehicle as he narrowly escaped from the scene”.
According to the source, “what angered the soldiers most, was the unnecessary deduction of their allowances and subjecting them to harsh working conditions without proper equipment to carry out their duties and as a result, many of them were being killed like rats by the insurgents”.
A top commentator on Africa Thisday had earlier told Africa Thisday that “some muslim military officers have Positioned themselves in the Nigerian Army at powerful positions and they even allow our gallant troops to be slauughtered by terorrists on dailly basis just because the junior Officers are Non-muslims.” He stated further that “GOCs who are Muslims would pick troops who are mostly comprised Of Christians & non muslims, provive inadequare armunition and make them to face the dreaded islamist terrorist group-Boko Haram”. Another commentator said: “I am angry that the GOC escaped. The soldiers must have realized that the GOC is the real Boko Haram”.

ABUJA BOMB BLAST: NIGERIA SECRET POLICE Parades Five Suspected Abuja Motor Park Bombers
The Nigerian secret Police has paraded the suspected masterminds of the Abuja Bomb blast. Below is a copy of the official statement by the security agency, SSS:
Recall that 14th April 2014, at El-Rufai Motor Park Nyanya , a bomb explosion occurred which resulted in the death of 74 people, leaving several other injured. As investigation was ongoing another bomb blast occurred on 1st May, 2014. Following these incidents and in line with the Security Forces commitment to bring to book perpetrators of evil in our society, a thorough investigation was initiated which led to the arrest of some suspected masterminds of the attacks. They include:
(1) Ahmad Rufai ABUBAKAR
(2) Muhammad Sani
(3) Adamu YUSUF
(4) Yau SAIDU
(5) Anas ISAH
RUFAI ABUBAKAR—was arrested on 22ndApril 2014 at Gwantu Sanga LGA of Kaduna State by a Joint Security team. He is a forty-three (43) year old indigene of Yarimawa , Kazaure LGA Jigawa State.
He has admitted that shortly after the bomb blast of April 14, 2014 one Rufai Abubakar Tsiga now at large confirmed to him that he (TSIGA) and other members of the Boko Haram sect carried the attack at Nyanya Motor Park to retaliate the killing of a sect member at the same Park eight (8) days earlier.
The said Rufai Abubakar TSIGA hails from Angwan Gabas , Gidan Mammai Tsiga Town ,Bakori LGA Katsina .
Ahmad Rufai ABUBAKAR confirmed that Rufai Abubakar TSIGA sent him recharge card credit of N800 after the bombing incident.
That it was later discovered that the phone of one Muhammadu Sani ISHAQ was used in sending him the credit.
According to Ahmad Rufai ABUBAKAR, (A.K.A Maiturare ) , Rufai Abubakar TSIGA also told him that Boko Haram National Leader had directed that all members of the sect should relocated with their families to “Gaaba” (Boko Haram forest camp)in preparation for mass attacks against the Nigerian State.
MUHAMMADU SANI ISHAQ—Sani was arrested on 24th April 2014 at Utako village behind Julius Berger Yard Utako following the disclosure made by Ahmad Rufai ABUBAKAR(A.K.A Maiturare). He is a thirty (30) year old indigene of Balari village Ajingi LGA of Kano State.
Sani was a sale boy in Rufai Abubakar TSIGA’s patent medicine store at Utako called “Kishi Clinic “ a structure which also served as a base for Boko Haram’s convert activities in the FCT. He revealed that two day before the Nyanya blasts, Rufai Abubakar TSIGA his boss , informed him around 4.00pm after prayer that there was a plan to bomb a facility in Abuja but stated that he was never informed of the exact location.
He further revealed that Rufai TSIGA later informed him that the bomb to be used for the blasts were being coupled at the residence of one Adamu YUSUF.
According to SANI , a day before the Nyanya bombing precisely 13th April 2014 he and TSIGA drove the car laden with explosives and parked it behind four (4) buses inside the Nyanya Bus Park overnight after which they left the area.
He revealed that before 7.00am the following morning Rufai TSIGA went and detonated the explosives.
According to him, two (2) cars were wired for attack. He claimed one was used for the April 14th 2014 incident which was a retaliatory attack on the motor park by the boko haram sect whose member was mobbed and killed a week before the bombing incident
When h was intercepted with firearms at the Nyanya Motor Park, (However, this story of killing of a boko haram member at the Nyanya Motor Park a week earlier would appear untrue but was fabricated by TSIGA to elicit the interest of SANI and other sect members used for the attack).
YAU SAIDU —Yau was arrested on 29thApril 2014 at his village Dandambo, Tsanyawa LGA Kano State. He is twenty-eight (28) years old.
Before his arrest, SAIDU was an apprentice under Rufai TSIGA at his medicine store in Utako village maket.
Although he denied membership of the boko haram sect, he claimed that his uncle , Rufai Abubakar TSIGA and Muahmmadu Sani ISHAQ attempted to enlist him several times.
He identified the perpetrators of the Nyanya bomb blast as Rufai Abubakar TSIGA Muhammadu Sani ISHAQ and Aminu Sadiq OGWUCHE.
He also disclosed that on 13th A pril 2014 about 11 hours, a day before the Nyanya bombing, Rufai Abubakar TSIGA and Muhammadu Sani ISHAQ drove out from Utako village market in a back-coloured Honda Accord car and returned about 15 hours . Later the same day, they went out again in the same car and did not return until the following day, 14th April 2014 about 11 hours after the Nyanya bombing incident had occurred.
He alleged that when TSIGA learnt of Muhammadu Sani ISAQ’s arrest he fled Utako to an unknown location and left his business in his care.
TSIGA equally sent a message to his wife, Hauwa on GSM 07067434122 directing her to pack her belongings and flee the area.
ADMU YUSUF —-Was arrested in Bauchi on 5th May, 2014. He is forty-three (43) years old . He confessed that he is member of the boko haram. Adamu was a cleric at Finance Quarters Mosque, Wuye, Abuja.
Muhammadu S ani ISAHQ disclosed that Rufai Abubakar TSIGA confirmed to him that the bombs used for the Nyanyan incident were coupled in a bush near the residence of Adamu Yusus.
Adamu YUSUF however claims that even though he knows Rufai Abubakar TSIGA, the mastermind of the Nyanya bombing, he did not take part in the bombing incident. He mentioned other members of the sect known to him to be;

He claimed to be an apprentice under Rufai Abubakar TSIGA along with Anas ISAH.
ADAMU claimed that on the day of the Nyanya bomb blast, Rufai Abubakar TSIGA, called and told him that he heard of the bomb blast and that it was a job well done.
ANAS ISAH—-Anas was arrested on 3rdMay, 2014 at Unguwar Yan-Tagwaye village, Katsina LGA Katsina State. He is 22 years old and indigene of Tsiga Bakori LGA Katsina.
Anas came to Abuja in 2011 and hawked yoghurt for about one (1) month before going back to Tsiga. He returned to Abuja in in 2012 and worked as a sales boy in a pharmacy located at Ruga near Wuye Market.
In 2013, Rufai Abubakr TSIGA invited ANAS to join his Clinic at Utako village. He identified Mohammadu Sani ISAHQ and Rufai Abubakar TSIGA as member of the sect especially as the latter had confided in him his membership of the boko haram sect.
FINDINGS
Rufai Abubakar TSIGA , a boko haram Leader is a mastermind of the bombing incident of 14th April , 2014 at El-Rufai Motor Park Nyanya, Abuja. TSIGA is currently at large.
Rufai Abubakar TSIGA was actively aided by a co-mastermind, Aminu Sadiq OGWUCHE, a student of Arabic Language at the International University of Africa, Sudan. He is from Orokam, Ogbadigbo LGA of Benue State. Aminu is currently at large.
In the night of 13th April 2014 Rufai Abubakr TSIGA and moved the explosives laden vehicle to the position from where he detonated the explosives.
Muhammadu Sani ISHAQ who took part with Rufai Abubakar TSIGA in positioning the explosive laden vehicle that exploded at Nyanya Motor Park , killing scores of Nigerians , is in the custody of this service. Altogether, five persons who are privy to the bombing incident have been taken into custody and they are :
(1) Ahmad Rufai ABUBAKAR N(A.K.A Abu Ibrahim /Maiturare
(2) Muhammadu Sani ISHAQ
(3) Yau SAIDU ( A.K.A Kotar Rama )
(4) Anas ISAH and
(5) Adamu YUSUF
Rufai Abubakar TSIGA (a.k.a Dr. TSIGA) and Aminu Sadiq OGWUCHE are currently at large and are hereby declared WANTED .the sum of Twenty-Five million naira (25M) is hereby announced as reward for anybody with useful information on their whereabouts.
It is noteworthy that UK born Aminu Sadiq OGWUCHE with Service Number SVC 95/104 deserted the Nigerian Army in 2006 . He served in the Intelligence Unit of the Nigerian Army at Child Avenue Arakan Barracks Lagos between 2001 and 2006 and was posted to the Nigerain Defence Academy in 2006.
Aminu Sadiq OGWUCHE was arrested on 12th November 2011 at Nnamdi Azikwe 2011 International Airport (NAIA)Abuja on his arrival from the United Kingdom for suspected involvement in terrorism-related activities but was released on bail on 15th October 2012 to his father ,Col.Agene OGWUCHE(RTD) following intense pressure from human rights activists who alleged human rights violation.
CONCLUSION
Nigerian security forces shall not rest on their oars until every individual or group of persons involved in the Nyanya bombings are brought to book. However our findings raise critical issues that demand the collective sensitivity and support of the general public if we must win the war on terror. Terrorists element are disguising daily by taking up various businesses and menial jobs in Abuja and its environs, Therefore, security awareness of the public and prompt response to information sharing will continue to play pivotal roles in the war on terror.
We hereby enjoin fellow Nigerians to be very vigilant and collaborate with law enforcement agencies as we together strive to protect our nation from the antics of criminals within and outside shores .
Accordingly we urge Nigerians to be patient, to trust and support the nation’s security forces as all seeming security mysteries in our country will be resolved.

B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G News!!! ISRAEL ARMY TO JOIN SEARCH FOR MISSING GIRLS & FIGHT AGAINST BOKO HARAM
The Israeli Army have confirmed their readiness to join the search for the Kidnapped Chibok School girls and the fight against the Islamic terror group, Boko Haram in Nigeria.
A statement obtained by Africa Thisday said that Netanyahu, currently on an official visit to Japan, made the proposal in a telephone call to Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Israel expresses its deep shock at the crime against the girls,” it quoted the premier as saying.
“We are prepared to help in locating the girls and to fight the cruel terror which has struck you.”
Boko Haram, whose name is literally translated: “Western education is forbidden” kidnapped the girls from their dormitory on April 14, and has threatened to sell them.
The abduction caused worldwide outrage as celebrities and foreign government officials protest.
BOKO HARAM AND OBAMA: THE SAD NEWS.
This morning, Nigeria’s National Tabloid-Vanguard Newspaper reported that U.S ignored Nigeria’s 2013 request to check Boko Haram.

“THE United States of America ignored requests by Nigeria for intelligence information and aid to help fight the militant Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram last year, reports have revealed..
Two American newspapers, ABC News and the Daily Beast, weekend, accused the Obama administration of failing to reply to requests by lobbying firm Patton Boggs on behalf of the Nigerian government.
Last weekend, US Senator John McCain told CNN, “We should have utilized every asset that we have, satellite, drones, any capabilities that we had to go after them. We didn’t have to wait until a practically non-existent government of Nigeria gave us the go-ahead before mounting a humanitarian effort to rescue those 276 abducted girls.”
But the ABC and the Daily Beast noted that the “revelation comes as many in the administration have blamed the Nigerian government for their rationale behind why the United States government was tardy in designating Boko Haram a Foreign Terrorist Organization.”
The papers said, “Two months prior to Boko Haram’s FTO designation, the Nigerian government reportedly reached a three million dollar agreement with lobbying firm Patton Boggs. According to U.S. Justice Department documents, the contract was enacted to “provide comprehensive security advice, including the donation of excess military and law enforcement equipment.” Patton Boggs assigned retired Marine Colonel John Garrett to represent Nigeria’s requests.
According to the ABC News report: On behalf of Nigerian National Security Adviser, Muhammadu Sambo Dasuki, Garrett requested information on Boko Haram activities derived from intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance overflights of northeastern Nigeria’s Borno state. Patton Boggs also asked for non-lethal protective hardware to be donated to Nigeria such as mine-resistant armored personnel vehicles, night vision goggles and communications equipment from Iraq and Afghanistan stockpiles left over from U.S. withdrawals from those warzones.” Vanguard reported.
America’s failure to respond to Nigeria’s request in 2013 further confirms Africa Thisday’s theory that Boko Haram may not be unconnected with the west.
Chibok: The emerging and uncomfortable facts.

Now that the operational leadership and visible face of Boko Haram, in the person of the filth called Mr. Abubakar Shekau (aka Darul Tawheed), has finally admitted that they were responsible for the abduction of hundreds of our school girls and that they intend to ‘’sell them in the market like slaves’’, it is pertinent and necessary for us to consider some of the emerging, though uncomfortable, facts.
This will enable us to understand the nature of who and what we are dealing with. Permit me to share the following facts that have been brought to my attention:
1. That the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has told us that 90 per cent of the girls that were abducted from their school at Chibok were Christians.
2. That President Goodluck Jonathan himself alluded to this during his last media chat when he said that ‘’the majority’’ of girls that were abducted were Christians.
3. That the majority of the girls that either ‘’escaped’’ or were released by their abductors were Muslims.
4. That the Governor of Borno State refused to accept the counsel and abide by the directives of WAEC that the exams should not take place in Chibok due to the precarious security situation and instead he insisted that the exams should take place there and that he would guarantee the security of the children.
5. That the Christian Association of Nigeria has formally accused the Governor of Borno State of ‘’conspiracy and collusion’’ and they have urged him to tell us exactly where the girls are and what he knows about the whole incident.
6. That the girls that have been kidnapped are being raped up to 15 times a day by their captors and that those amongst them that have refused to convert to Islam are having their throats cut (read the testimony of one of the girls that ‘’escaped’’ on page 8 of the Vanguard Newspaper, 5th April, 2014).
7. That there was not a single adult in the school grounds watching over the 278 girls that entire night apart from one security man and that there was no electricity, no generator, no principal, no matron, no house master and no house mistress in the grounds with them.
8. That the children were all alone in their dormitories that night in the blistering heat and deepest darkness before the Haramites arrived to burn their school and carried them away into captivity.
9. That the soldiers that were guarding the school in Chibok were redeployed a few hours before Boko Haram launched their attack and abducted the children.
10. That up till now pictures of the abducted girls have not been produced or released by the school authorities or the state government.
11. That this was a predominantly christian School and that Chibok is a predominantly Christian community.

#BringBackOurGirls: American Marines locate abducted girls in Sambisa forest.
There were indications yesterday that the 230 female students abducted by Boko Haram terrorists from the Government Girls’ Secondary School, GGSS, Chibok, Borno State, have been sited at the Sambisa Forest in Borno State, by the Special Forces of the United States Marines.
The girls who were abducted on April 14, were part of the 250 students boarded at the school for the West African School Certificate, WASC/ Senior Secondary School Certificate, SSSC, examinations, triggering world-wide condemnations.
This was even as more US military officials arrived Nigeria yesterday to join local officials in the search for nearly 300 school girls taken captives by the Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram, the US Secretary of State John Kerry, and the defence department, Pentagon, said.
The UK team had earlier arrived in Abuja to support Nigerian government in its response to the abduction of over 200 school girls.
The US Secretary of State, John Kerry said the US team, working with the Nigerian government, would do everything possible to free the girls and everything possible to stop the atrocities of Boko Haram.
“We are also going to do everything possible to counter the menace of Boko Haram. The entire world should not only be condemning this outrage but should be doing everything possible to help Nigeria in the days ahead,” he added.
Africa Thisday learnt that the American Military Team to Nigeria is comprised of just Seven (7) officers.
#CHIBOK GIRLS: Masterminds of Nyanya bomb blasts nabbed – Jonathan.
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday revealed that the masterminds of the two deadly bomb blasts that rocked Nyanya, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory have been arrested and are currently helping the security agencies in their efforts to unmask their financiers.
Jonathan spoke while fielding questions from journalists at the end of the 24th World Economic Forum for Africa, WEFA, held in Abuja which ended yesterday.
Jonathan said he had declared a total war on Boko Haram ‘’terror group’’ to rout it out of existence in the country, warning that anybody thinking that the spate of bombings and other devastation activities by the Boko Haram sect in Nigeria would force his administration to bend over forward and negotiate power with the sect or their sponsors should rather have a re-think as such a situation would not arise.
“Boko Haram is a terror group and as journalists you should know the meaning of terror. Before the 9/11 no body in the US or UK imagined the dimension of terrorists in the world. You can not be too sure of what ideology that drives their leaning. Sometimes, it is from the religious sentiments… but we need to combine so many factors to underscore their driving spirit . But I want to advice that the terrorists should also know that they don’t do certain things and get away with it because most of these activities are criminal offenses and they should know that when they are caught, they would pay dearly for it. ‘’For instance, I can tell you that the masterminds of the last Nyanya bomb blast have been arrested and would face the long arm of the law. I want to assure also that sooner than later, the abducted Chibok school girls would also be rescued with the help of the global community and we will use remote sensing technology to smoke them out to face the consequences,” Jonathan said.
#Bring Back Our Girls: Why the Nigeria Military failed to stop Boko Haram – Amnesty International.
Nigeria’s military had advanced warning of the April 14 attack by Boko Haram that led to the kidnapping of more than 200 schoolgirls but failed to take immediate action, Amnesty International said Friday.
“Damning testimonies gathered by Amnesty International reveal that Nigerian security forces failed to act on advance warnings about Boko Haram’s armed raid on the state-run boarding school in Chibok which led to the abduction,” the rights group said.
Amnesty said it had verified the information about the abduction with “credible sources”.
“Amnesty International has confirmed… that Nigeria’s military headquarters in Maiduguri was aware of the impending attack soon after 7:00 PM (1800 GMT) on 14 April, close to four hours before Boko Haram began their assault on the town,” the group said.
The military however could not assemble the troops needed to suppress the attack, “due to poor resources and a reported fear of engaging with the often better-equipped” Islamists, according to Amnesty.
The 17 army personnel based in Chibok were overpowered by the attackers and had to retreat, the London-based group further said.
“The fact that Nigerian security forces knew about Boko Haram’s impending raid, but failed to take the immediate action needed to stop it, will only amplify the national and international outcry at this horrific crime,” said Netsanet Belay, Amnesty International’s Africa Director for research and advocacy.
